Spring Cleaning Tips to Get your Home Ready!

After an intense winter, there is nothing better than the prospect of warmer weather. With spring just around the corner, we’re starting to see bathing suit displays, patio furniture and other reminders that our favorite season is on its way! With the idea of blue skies and a lack of snow banks, we’re thinking the term “spring cleaning” is also being tossed around. Check out some simple cleaning tips to get your home ready!
·       Do you have roommates?
It’s important that you ring in the new season of your home with your roommates and those you live with. You can reorganize rooms, do a kitchen and grocery restock and put time into parts of the house that you all use together.

·       Make a day of it
Time is the most important part of the process. Take a day or so to rejuvenate your home and help it adjust to the season. It might be a good idea to clear your schedule for a weekend, but be sure to take frequent breaks to avoid getting overwhelmed when cleaning!

·       Create a New Mood
Winter brings the feeling of indoor warmth and family togetherness, and we’re guilty of stocking up on candles that reflect the season. Spring is ready to take us outdoors on vacations and to the water. You can change the mood in your home with simple things, such as swapping out the cookie and pine needle candles, for more floral and tropical smells.

·       Dust, Dust, Dust
Since you likely haven’t used your ceiling fans in a couple months, be sure to wear gloves and have plenty of clothes on hand when dusting fans and light fixtures.

·       Organize, Trash, and Restructure
Out with the old, and in with the new. Spring is a great time to go through your clothes and get rid of items you no longer wear. You may also need to swap out your coats and scarves for shorts and flip-flops stored during winter.

·       Food is a must
The most important thing is to make sure you clean your fridge out. Winter foods are full of holiday desserts and comfort items, so clean out your fridge and get it ready for the beginning of the barbecue season!
